Man in the US shoots and kills female Uber driver. An Ohio man faces murder charges after confessing to shooting an Uber driver who was misled by scammers into picking up a package at his residence. The tragic incident occurred in South Charleston on March 25, around 11:25 am.

William Brock, 81, informed authorities that he had been receiving fraudulent calls from scammers demanding money and had felt threatened by them leading up to the altercation.

According to reports, a suspected scammer messaged Uber delivery driver Letha Hall, 61, instructing her to collect a package from Brock’s home.

Hall arrived at Brock’s residence and simply inquired about the package without making any threats or assaults. Feeling threatened, Brock brandished a gun and demanded she reveal who sent her.

Brock then confiscated Hall’s phone and prevented her from leaving, without seeking assistance from emergency services.

As Hall attempted to retreat to her vehicle, Brock shot her multiple times, resulting in her tragic death during surgery at a local hospital.

Brock sustained injuries to his head and ear during the altercation.

He eventually contacted 911 after shooting Hall, claiming she was there to steal from him. He alleged that Hall attacked him, prompting him to defend himself.

Authorities charged Brock with murder due to his failure to call 911 and the absence of an active threat from Hall during the encounter.

He was released on a $200,000 bond but may face additional charges pending further investigation into the incident.
