A court has ordered the remand of a Binance executive in Kuje prison.

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Tigran Gambaryan, a senior official of Binance Holdings Limited, in Kuje prison, Abuja.

The remand order was issued on April 8 after Gambaryan pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The judge adjourned the hearing on Gambaryan’s bail consideration until April 18, with May 2 set as the date to commence hearings on the substantive charge.

In March, the Federal Government arrested Gambaryan and another Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, over allegations of involvement in money laundering and terrorism financing.

While Gambaryan remains in custody, Anjarwalla, Binance’s Africa Regional Manager, reportedly escaped from custody in Abuja.
