Assailants assault federal legislator in Benue locality.

A federal lawmaker representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency and serving as the deputy spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, reportedly faced an attack by unidentified individuals in Benue State.

According to The Nation, the incident occurred during Agbese’s constituency engagement in Igumale, the administrative center of Ado Local Government Area, on Thursday, April 4.

Local residents mentioned that Agbese was participating in Easter celebrations with constituents when a group of youths armed with weapons such as clubs and knives disrupted the event.

Agbese managed to evade harm narrowly, being escorted away by security personnel.

Subsequently, some of the assailants have been apprehended by security forces, and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
