Oxlade revealed that he was targeted with blackmail involving his private videos, which were eventually leaked online, resulting in the loss of endorsement deals worth N400 million.
Nigerian singer Oxlade has disclosed that he was subjected to a two-year blackmail ordeal involving his private videos before they were eventually leaked online.
The ‘Kulosa’ artist revealed that the scandal resulted in him losing endorsement deals worth N400 million. In an interview with entertainment journalist Joey Akan, Oxlade admitted the authenticity of the videos.
He shared that while it was a relief to stop paying the blackmailer, the situation deeply affected his family, with his grandmother expressing distress over the ordeal.
The incident plunged Oxlade into a dark period, prompting him to seek rehabilitation in the UK. He noted that the release of multiple videos should have signaled to Nigerians that it was a deliberate attack against him.
Reflecting on the experience, Oxlade emphasized that the betrayal came from those closest to him, highlighting how some individuals feared his progress. Despite the challenges, he persevered and went on to achieve one of the biggest songs in the country last year.
